Portland, Oregon, March 10, 2020 – JP General, an exciting new home and lifestyle store, has opened in historic Multnomah Village in Southwest Portland. Located at 7868 SW Capitol Highway, Portland, Oregon, the retail shop features exceptional products for home, work and play.
With an emphasis on innovative design, sustainable and fair trade goods, local makers and quality service, JP General has found a dedicated following of shoppers including both neighborhood locals and visitors to the “Village in the heart of Portland” since opening in September. The store showcases a collection of unique “usables” – one-of-a-kind merchandise including handcrafted and eco-friendly home goods and home décor, accessories, garden supplies, jewelry and gifts.
The distinctive shopping experience and welcoming atmosphere at JP General derive from the combined talents and interests of co-owners and founders Jay Quiggle and Peter-Tolin Baker. Their depth of experience in retail, design and client services includes work with a broad range of marquee brand clients in New York, San Francisco and Tokyo such as Tiffany & Co., Vogue and Stella Artois. Now living in Portland’s Multnomah Village neighborhood, Quiggle and Baker are pleased to bring their passion for innovative, high quality product and superior customer service to JP General.
JP General’s inspired store interior and striking branding and packaging is designed by Baker, Founder and Creative Director of PTB Design Services, a visual design firm with offices in Brooklyn, NY and Portland. The store’s clean, modernist Scandinavian design plan and open, light-infused space brings a fresh, contemporary experiential shopping experience to Southwest Portland, fluidly accommodating shoppers as well as special events and workshops.
