Multnomah Village is the perfect place to head for holiday shopping, dining, and festivities. And there's an extra special reason to visit JP General.
JP General's showstopping holiday window displays have become a Village tradition that adds to the festive spirit of the season.
Our store windows are designed, built, and installed by JP General co-owner Peter-Tolin Baker, who taps his deep experience in design, production, and merchandising.
Movement is the special element that sets holiday windows apart from JP General displays throughout the rest of the year, and the process of creating a uniquely themed, large-scale moving display for the holiday season begins as early as summer.
Designs are sketched and rendered as models, and supplies are gathered. Prototypes are constructed to ensure that large rotating or spinning display pieces will operate as conceived, and then the full-scale build gets underway.
Window installation takes place after store hours, and the magic is revealed. We enjoy the response of shoppers and visitors of all ages who pause to take in the seasonal display.
