Kashmiri pashmina, which translated means "soft gold," is the softest cashmere you will find. It comes from the fine wool of a special breed of cashmere goats in the Himalayas. Fine pashmina threads are individually hand-spun on a spinning wheel. The threads are separately hand-dyed, then hand-woven on a traditional loom by skilled craftsmen and women in Kashmir. A single traditional pashmina wrap takes 180 hours to produce.
